Mira Katherine Sorvino (; born (1967-09-28)September 28, 1967) is an American actress. She rose to stardom with her performance as a prostitute in the comedy film Mighty Aphrodite (1995), which won her both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.

She was born in Sydney to Turkish parents and lives in Los Angeles, California. Amidst media speculation, Erol confirmed she was dating Quentin Tarantino whom she met in Cannes, France. Erol's relationship with the American film director Tarantino ended after four years. She is also close friends with Oliver Stone. Holding multiple citizenships, Erol is fluent in English and Turkish.
